Glider - Aircraft Type Information
Certification and Eligibility
The following are the requirements for eligibility for a private pilot certificate with a Glider rating:
- Must be 16 years or older.
- Be able to read, speak, write, and understand English.
- Complete training and flight time in accordance with part 61 of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations.[2]
- Pass a knowledge test and a practical test.
- Be certified as student pilot, sport pilot, or recreational pilot.
